First round of the 2026 Spanish Championship in Valencia.
We had a perfect start to the season in Almussafes, securing an important victory!
It was the first major race with the Serpent 990R, and the car performed very well. There are still many things to test due to lack of time, but we worked hard from Friday onwards with many setup changes; we even tried something new in each qualifying session on Saturday... We improved in each heat, managing to be the fastest in the 3rd, 4th, and final heats, and we secured pole position for Sunday.
In the overall final, we expected, as always, a battle with Nacho, Víctor, and the other drivers. We got off to a great start, and Nacho was slightly delayed by a stop-and-go penalty. Víctor appeared, as usual, with a very high pace, putting a lot of pressure on us and running very similarly, just a few meters apart, until the tire change. Shortly after the halfway point, he suffered a problem with his car and had to retire... a shame because I think from the outside it looked like a spectacular, beautiful, and clean race. From then on, we kept an eye on Nacho, who also suffered an engine stall due to lack of fuel, as well as Iker, Sergi, Olivares, and the others. With a slight advantage, we secured refueling stops until crossing the finish line in first place.
I've included photos of our setup that we used in Almussafes, which we all discussed at the "Friday Team Meeting"
We're very happy with the new Serpent 990R. Very fast and reliable. Thanks, Michael Salven!
Congratulations also to our teammate Javier Corbalán Monserrate! Winner of Final B, also with Serpent!
Lastly, I'd like to highlight the great atmosphere in the pits, enjoying this exciting sport with colleagues and friends, and the fantastic treatment we received from the Club @ Associació Automodelisme Autet!
